At Meritus University, we believe that you shouldn't have to put your career to one side while you study for the qualifications you need. That's why our degree programs are specifically designed to be easily accessible for ambitious working professionals — meeting the individual needs of a diverse student population, studying online, anywhere in the world.
Our programs facilitate critical thinking, collaboration and leadership by integrating academic theory with best-practice applications. Led by qualified faculty with active professional careers of their own, courses are based on realistic problem solving and small, interactive classes. You benefit from accelerated time-to-completion and innovative learning that's relevant to the challenges you will face in the real world, in your chosen career.
We're bringing the best of Canadian education directly to you. Whenever you can make the time to study. Wherever you are. Whatever your ambitions might be.
Unlike other Canadian institutions, we do not charge international students an international tuition rate; international students pay local tuition rates.
Meritus degrees are completed fully online, so there are none of the costs and complexities of travel and housing. Working professionals overseas need not take time out from their careers, or time away from their families, to gain a high quality international education.
The skills and knowledge sought by Canadian employers are in equal demand elsewhere around the world. The programs we have developed to meet this demand reflect the global economy we live in.
Following review of program proposals by the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission, Meritus University is approved to offer its first three programs from the New Brunswick Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, thereby establishing degree-granting status.
Meritus University currently offers three degree programs:
Meritus University's degree programs are offered in a 100 percent online modality.
Graduate courses are taken one at a time for six weeks; Undergraduate courses are taken two at a time for 10 weeks.
Unlike other Canadian institutions, we do not charge international students an international tuition rate; international students pay local tuition rates.
New program start dates occur on the last Tuesday of each month.
The majority of faculty are Canadian.
Meritus University has no need for terms and is free to operate outside a traditional academic calendar. New students can begin at any time. Graduate courses are six consecutive weeks and undergraduate courses are ten consecutive weeks. Graduate students will typically take one course at a time and undergraduate students will typically take two courses at a time. This allows you to focus attention and resources on one or two subjects - a structure that enhances learning and helps you balance ongoing professional and personal responsibilities.
The calendaring of courses is designed to allow you to take courses back-to-back without breaks; although due to the flexible nature of the online modality, you may schedule breaks between courses. This intensive calendar allows you to achieve your educational goals in a more time-efficient manner. Our low student/faculty ratio and smaller class sizes (averaging 20 students) facilitate active learning and collaboration and encourage time on task.
